Privacy Policy

Last updated June 6, 2026

Remote online notarization requires sensitive information to verify who you are. This policy explains what NotaryPerfect collects, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have.

1. What we collect

  • Identity data: name, address, date of birth, the last four digits of your SSN (for KBA), images of your government ID, and the video of your face during ID presentation.
  • Verification data: KBA questions, answers, and results, and credential-analysis results.
  • Session data: the audio-video recording, electronic journal entries, timestamps, IP and device metadata, and your location attestation.
  • Document data: the contents of documents you upload for notarization.
  • Payment data: processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.

2. Sensitive information

We treat your ID images, SSN digits, and audio-video recordings as sensitive personal information and protect them accordingly. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not create or sell biometric identifiers or face templates.

3. How we use your data

We use your information only to:

  • Verify your identity through credential analysis and KBA.
  • Perform and record the notarial act and create the required legal record.
  • Process payment and provide customer support.
  • Comply with Nevada recordkeeping law, prevent fraud, and respond to lawful requests.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only as needed to provide the service or comply with the law, under contract, with:

  • Our remote online notarization platform provider.
  • Our identity-proofing, KBA, and credential-analysis vendor.
  • Our payment processor and cloud storage providers.
  • The Nevada Secretary of State, courts, or others where required by law or subpoena.

5. How long we keep recordings

Under NRS 240.1995 and NRS 240.201, we retain your audio-video recording and the electronic journal for at least seven (7) years. This is a legal mandate. Because of it, a deletion request cannot override the required retention period for these specific records.

6. How we protect your data

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, tamper-evident technology for notarized documents, and contractual security obligations on our vendors, consistent with Nevada's data security requirements (NRS 603A).

7. Your rights

Nevada residents (NRS 603A / SB 220): you may opt out of the sale of your covered information. We respond to verified requests within 60 days.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you may request to know, access, correct, delete, or limit the use of your sensitive personal information, and opt out of sale or sharing. These rights are subject to records we are legally required to retain, such as the seven-year notarial record above.

To exercise any right, email hello@notaryperfect.com. We may verify your identity before acting on a request.
